I’m telling you – it’s crazy that exactly one week from now Marnie and I will be saying “I do.” But as some of you have mentioned to me, there’s more to it than just a few words.

And while Marnie and I have been together for nearly 14 years and engaged for nearly 5, it makes sense that we extend the offer to you to provide us some sage words of advice on how to make the marriage work. Not that we think we need that much help, but you can never have too much insight, right?

  1. The woman is always right.
    Unless she’s *completely* wrong.
But even then you must make her think you think she’s right and subtly guide her to reality.
    Then act surprised.

  2. Never go to bed angry, no matter how frustrating it gets try to look at other person and say “I may not agree with you but I respect you enough and lets just say lets agree to disagree”
    wishing you all the best

  3. Know that every marriage will have problems, but if you face those problems together, anything can be overcome. Obviously you have already made it long-term already by being together for 14 years…way to go!

Keep each other as your #1 priority and always be present in the moment. Aloha wins every time.

Congratulations on your Marriage in Maui!

  4. I was also going to say, never go to bed angry. Remember to be friends as well as lovers, laugh together everyday and always back each other up! Have a wonderful time, and enjoy your day. I’m sure it will be beautiful!
